RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO PERMANENTLY CLOSE A PORTION OF BRIDGE STREET WHEREAS, N.C. Gen. Stat. Section 160A-299 prescribes the procedure to be followed by a town in order to permanently close a street or alley; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for the Town of Bridgeton has determined that it is advisable to consider permanently closing the portion of Bridge Street located between E Street and Highway 17; and WHEREAS, in order for a municipality to property and lawfully permanently close a street, N.C. Gen. Stat. Section 160A-299 requires that a town first adopt a resolution declaring its intent to permanently close the street (or portion thereof) in question and then call a public hearing on the question. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Bridgeton as follows: 1.
