CRAVEN COUNTY CDBG PROGRAM FAIR HOUSING Craven County has received CDBG funds from the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Rural Economic Development Division, for the rehabilitation or clearance/replacement of several substandard housing units for low to moderate income households. One of the conditions of the county's grant agreement with the state agency is to promote fair housing opportunities. The county has adopted a Fair Housing Policy and has prepared a plan to affirmatively further fair housing efforts in the community. Craven Countys Fair Housing Policy establishes a procedure for handling complaints concerning housing discrimination at the local level. If any citizen experiences discrimination in housing because of race, color, sex, religion, handicap, familial status, or national origin, they may contact the County Planning Director at (252) 636-6618.
