NOTICE OF PUBLIC BEARING OF THE CRAVEN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGARDING CONVEYANCE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 158-7.1, Craven County (hereinafter "County") intends to convey for economic development purposes for reduced consideration a fee simple interest in a +/­ twenty-one and one half (21.5) acre tract of land, said tract being Lots 13 and 14 in the Craven County Industrial Park. The value of the tract proposed to be conveyed is Twenty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($20,000.00) an acre, for a total value of approximately Four Hundred Thirty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($430,000.00), and the County intends to convey and sell same for Two Hundred Fifty­ Eight Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($258,000.00), or Twelve Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($12,000.00) per acre. The County believes the proposed conveyance will stimulate and stabilize the local economy, result in the creation of a substantial number of new permanent jobs in the county, and result in increased tax revenues to the County. The public hearing is scheduled at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter, and will be held at Jacksonville City Hall, Council Chambers, which is located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC, 28540. Mitigation is the ongoing effort to lessen the impact that hazards could have on people and property through sustained action that reduces or eliminates long-term risk from natural hazards and their effects. The Hazard Mitigation Plan is updated on an annual basis but requires federal approval on a five year cycle.
